This item is a bed-mounted turret attachment (also known as a capstan slide or hex turret). It is a production accessory designed to temporarily or permanently replace a traditional tailstock on a metalworking lathe.

Overview :

The round rotating indexing head (turret) features multiple socket bores 1 1/2'' diamater (typically 6 stations). This allows an operator to load several tools at oncesuch as drill chucks, center drills, reamers, taps, or countersinksfor high-volume, repetitive machining operations.

Automatic Indexing:

Rotating the top lever backward advances and retracts the entire slide. Mechanically, pulling the slide all the way back automatically unlocks, rotates (indexes), and locks the head to the next tool station.

Adjustable Work Stops:

The grouped, protruding screws on the left end act as individual mechanical depth stops. Each screw matches up with one specific tool station to ensure consistent, highly accurate cutting depths.
